Mother Allegedly Murders Husband with Pestle in Ondo
In a harrowing turn of events, 12-year-old Ibukun Solomon has bravely shared the horrifying details of how his mother, Tayelolu, allegedly took her husband’s life, Felix, with a pestle following a minor dispute in Ondo town, Ondo State.
The tragic incident occurred in the heart of the Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ondo town, where the couple resided. Reports suggest that frequent conflicts had marred the marriage, and Tayelolu had previously threatened her husband’s life.
On the fateful day, after yet another argument between the couple, Felix retired to a chair to rest. Ibukun, their youngest child, witnessed the terrifying events that unfolded next. As he recounted, “My mother killed my father with a pestle in my presence and took to her heels. She used the pestle to hit his head when he was asleep.”
This brutal assault left Felix unconscious, and he tragically succumbed to his injuries. Tayelolu fled the scene, leaving her children and the lifeless body of her husband behind. Ibukun immediately sought help from their neighbors, who rushed Felix to the hospital, but sadly, he could not be saved. His body now rests in the morgue.
Felix’s brother expressed his grief and frustration at the family’s inability to resolve the couple’s ongoing disputes. He revealed, “The woman had been threatening to kill her husband whenever they were fighting. And the deceased informed us about the threats. But we never knew she would carry out the devilish act.”
“Earlier on the fateful day, a minor argument had ensued between them that resulted in a fight. After the fight, my father went to lie on the chair, and my mother hit his head with the pestle.
“He became unconscious in the process and fell down from the chair. My mother used the pestle to hit my father’s head three times, and he later died.
“When my mother saw that my father was unconscious, she hid the pestle at the back of our house and ran away.
“I alerted some of the residents, who rushed my father to the hospital. But he later died. His corpse has been deposited at the morgue.
“My mother has three children for my father, and I am the last child.”
Law enforcement authorities are now actively pursuing Tayelolu, and a top police officer confirmed that she will face charges of murder once apprehended.
