In a heartfelt message on Tuesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to Muslims in Nigeria and across the globe on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration. He passionately encouraged them to embrace and embody the profound teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
The President, in his statement, emphasized that beyond the festivities that accompany the commemoration of the Holy Prophet’s birthday, this period offers an invaluable opportunity for deep introspection and fervent prayers.
President Tinubu stressed the importance of adhering to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, underscoring the invaluable lessons of devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility, and selflessness that can be gleaned from the exemplary life of the Prophet.
Furthermore, he called upon religious leaders to utilize this period as an occasion for prayer on behalf of the nation and to guide their congregations in assimilating the essential principles from Prophet Muhammad’s life into their commitment to the betterment of the country.
“Nigeria stands at a critical juncture,” President Tinubu stated, acknowledging the government’s tireless efforts to ensure the nation’s security and economic prosperity. The federal government, through the Minister of Interior, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, has already declared Wednesday as a public holiday for Muslims to observe this auspicious day.
