Severe flooding has led to the displacement of numerous residents in the Polobubo/Tsekelewu community, situated in the Warri North local government area of Delta state.
Mr. Paul Toruwei, the President of Polobubo Blocks of Communities, expressed the dire situation to Vanguard, highlighting the profound impact of the flood. Many flood victims now rely on canoes for mobility within the community due to the inundation.
Toruwei further elaborated on the devastating consequences of the flood, noting that it has disrupted economic activities in the region. Fishermen and farmers are unable to carry out their usual business operations, while churches and other public establishments have been compelled to suspend their activities due to the deluge.
In light of these challenges, he issued an earnest plea to both the federal and Delta state governments, urging them to provide assistance to the affected area.
