Chelsea’s head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, has delivered a clear message to striker Nicolas Jackson, emphasizing the importance of his goal contributions.
Since his summer transfer from Villarreal, the 22-year-old forward has managed to find the net in the Premier League just once, raising concerns among fans and pundits. In a recent match against Nottingham Forest, Jackson missed a glaring opportunity when he blasted the ball over an open net during Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat prior to the international break.
Despite this dip in form, Pochettino has expressed his faith in Jackson’s ability to rediscover his scoring touch. Chelsea fans will be hoping to see their young striker regain his confidence and become a more prolific scorer in the coming matches.
“The performance [against Nottingham Forest] was good, only that he didn’t score.
“As a striker, you need to score or assist, but we need to think that Jackson came from Spain, he’s young, he needs to build his confidence and trust. He needs to adapt to the Premier League.
“It’s only a matter of time, but he’s doing a fantastic job for the team.
“He needs to be more clinical in front of goal, but I think that is going to happen. No doubt he is a fantastic player,” Pochettino said.
