A recently uncovered petition authored by the late Nigerian artiste Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as MohBad, has brought to light shocking allegations of life-threatening encounters and malicious property damage. MohBad’s petition was directed at the police and named Samson Erinfolami Balogun, popularly known as Sam Larry, along with a group of 15 individuals, as the alleged culprits in these disturbing incidents.
According to the petition, Sam Larry and his associates reportedly descended upon a video shoot involving the deceased artist and fellow musician Zlatan Ibile, brandishing weapons and issuing threats. The situation escalated as they proceeded to cause extensive damage to equipment valued at over N5 million and physically assaulted MohBad, who narrowly escaped with injuries.
In a startling revelation, Sam Larry claimed affiliation with Oba Elegushi of Lagos State during the ordeal. The petition implored the authorities to intervene, seeking protection for MohBad and legal action against those implicated.
MohBad, a signee of Marlian Records owned by the prominent singer Naira Marley, tragically passed away on September 12, casting further shadows on the circumstances surrounding this petition. Dated June 27, 2023, the document officially titled “PETITION OF THREAT TO LIFE, MALICIOUS DAMAGE OF PROPERTIES VALUED THE SUM OF FIVE MILLION NAIRA, ASSAULT OCCASIONING HARM, OPPRESSION AND CONDUCT LIKELY TO CAUSE BREACH OF PEACE AGAINST SAM LARRY ELEGUSHI, ELELE, OBELE AND OTHERS” provides a harrowing account of the events.
“I of the above name and address, a law-abiding citizen and a Musician, bring to your notice the assault and threat to my life by the above mentioned persons.
“On June 25, 2023, while having a video shoot with another artist by the name Zlatan (Ibile, the above-mentioned persons numbering about fifteen led by Sam Larry Elegushi invaded the premises with dangerous arms such as guns, cutlasses etc, where I was shooting video and scattered the whole process of the shooting, damaged the equipment I was using for the shooting valued about Five Million Naira and started threatening my life which in the process they became violent and assaulted me which I sustained injuries but narrowly escaped.
“Attached to this petition is the said pictures. Total amount I paid for the shooting they have destroyed is Eight Million Naira (N8,000,000) which is non-refundable.
“However, during the assault, they were boasting that they work for Oba Elegushi and that they have been asked to deal with me for reasons best known to them which till date they are still threatening to kill me if seen. Sir, I call on your good office to save my life from the above mentioned persons and bring them to book.
“Thank you for your timely intervention.”
As the investigation unfolds, this distressing petition has sent shockwaves through the music industry and the public, leaving many questions unanswered. Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough inquiry into the allegations to determine the veracity of MohBad’s claims and ensure justice is served.
