In a heart-wrenching incident, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dauda Ali Biu, has expressed profound grief over the untimely demise of a dedicated Corps tow truck driver involved in a road accident at Karu Bridge in the capital city of Abuja.
According to an official statement issued by the FRSC, the tragic crash unfolded at precisely 04:02 a.m. while an FRSC tow truck was engaged in the removal of a disabled vehicle along the Nyanya-Maraba expressway.
The statement reads: “In the wake of the regrettable road mishap that unfolded at Karu Bridge on the Nyanya-Maraba expressway on Friday, September 1, 2023, resulting in the loss of the Federal Road Safety Corps Tow Truck driver who was diligently towing a disabled trailer from the accident scene, Corps Marshal Dauda Ali Biu has expressed his profound shock over the incident. He extends his heartfelt condolences to the entire management and staff of the Corps for this tragic loss.”
“Regrettably, the accident occurred at 0402 hours while the FRSC Tow Truck was performing its essential duty of removing the disabled truck along the aforementioned route. Investigation into the accident revealed the involvement of a total of four individuals, with three sustaining varying degrees of injuries, while the tow truck driver tragically lost his life. The accident involved only two vehicles, the truck and the FRSC tow truck.”
“The Corps Marshal, deeply saddened by the incident, offered his prayers for the departed soul and has directed the immediate clearance of all obstructions caused by the accident.”
