The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has appealed to the Nigerian Army to reveal, apprehend, and legally pursue those encouraging the military to revolt against President Bola Tinubu.
MURIC conveyed this stance following the Army’s acknowledgment that specific factions have been prodding them to execute a coup, citing soldiers’ well-being and the recent coup in Niger as reasons.
In a statement issued on Monday, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the Executive Director of MURIC, also lauded the Army for their steadfastness against these subversive endeavors.
Akintola remarked, “We extend our commendation to the officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army for rejecting the instigation of coup proponents.
“We implore the armed forces to reveal, apprehend, and subject to legal proceedings those who are inciting it to undermine the lawful administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
“A military regime would strip Nigerians of their liberties and subject them to indignity.”
