Canadian hip-hop artist Daystar Peterson, known by the stage name Tory Lanez, has been sentenced to a decade of incarceration due to his involvement in shooting his American counterpart, Megan Thee Stallion.
A judge in Los Angeles handed down the prison sentence on Tuesday.
It should be noted that the rapper was found guilty in December 2022 on charges of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and two other serious crimes. Megan Thee Stallion initiated this legal action after she was shot in the feet by Lanez following a party at Kylie Jenner’s residence in 2020.
Megan provided testimony, revealing that Lanez fired at her feet and commanded her to “Dance, bitch” as she was walking away from an SUV in 2020.
While the prosecution had called for a 13-year imprisonment for the hip-hop artist, the jury ultimately determined a 10-year jail term.
