Grammy-winning Nigerian artist, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has responded to President Bola Tinubu’s proposal for military intervention in the Niger Republic after a recent coup in the Sahelian nation.
Recall that President Tinubu had approached the Senate to seek its backing for a military intervention against the military junta in the Niger Republic, but the request was rejected.
In a live session on Manny’s Instagram account, Burna Boy, speaking in Pidgin English, advised President Tinubu to focus on addressing the fuel scarcity in Nigeria due to the sudden removal of subsidies that led to a surge in pump prices.
He humorously commented, “What’s the deal? They say we’re headed for war [laughs]. You can’t head to a battlefield with a fuel shortage.”
He went on to ask, “How do you plan to get to the battlefield? Are you going to power it with… What’s that generator they use? Gas generator. It astonishes me. Nigeria never runs out of problems.”
