Amid widespread demonstrations across the nation, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, and his counterpart from the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Festus Osifo, convened a significant meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.
Following a 30-minute discussion that concluded at 5:38 pm, the labor leaders disclosed that the President had made several commitments aimed at addressing pressing issues requiring immediate attention. These issues were at the heart of the ongoing protests.
The labor leaders stated their intention to present the outcomes of the meeting to their respective executive committees, which will subsequently deliberate on the course of action regarding the ongoing demonstrations. To this end, the NLC has scheduled its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting for Thursday, during which all pertinent matters will be thoroughly considered.
