The Accountant General of the Federation, Oluwatoyin Madein, assured journalists in Abuja on Tuesday that there would be no delay in paying civil servants’ salaries for July 2023.
Addressing concerns over the delayed payment of May and June 2023 salaries, Madein attributed the delays to external bottlenecks beyond their control. However, she emphasized that measures have been implemented to ensure prompt payment of July salaries.
Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Folashade Yemi-Esan, also spoke at the interactive session and expressed optimism that workers would soon have reasons to smile. She mentioned the government’s committee exploring the possibility of transportation allowances and other palliatives to cushion the impact of the fuel subsidy removal on civil servants.
