The Senate is in a closed-door meeting shortly after commencing today’s plenary. The meeting was mainly convened to discuss the list of ministerial nominees that the Presidency purportedly submitted.
The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, announced the Senators to proceed into the executive session right after addressing petitions, the fifth item on the Order Paper. The closed-door session commenced precisely at 11.59 a.m.
According to reports, the meeting likely centers around President Bola Tinubu’s list of ministerial nominees. There have been apparent disagreements among the Senators concerning the list, prompting the necessity of the meeting.
It’s worth noting that the President of the Senate had a lengthy meeting with key stakeholders yesterday. Allegedly, the President already possesses the list, and it might be revealed either after the closed-door session or next week since there will be no plenary tomorrow.
More details will be available later.
