Anthony Adepoju, a lawmaker representing Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North in Oyo State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has stated his readiness to work with President Bola Tinubu, despite being elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
During an interview on Kaftan TV, Adepoju emphasized his commitment to the growth and development of Nigeria. He acknowledged Tinubu as the current president and expressed his willingness to collaborate with him.
Adepoju further highlighted that his decision to contest as a lawmaker stemmed from his desire to address the challenges faced by his constituents, particularly in the area of power supply.
In his own words, he stated, “If we are unsatisfied with the current state of affairs, we have two options. We can remain silent and hope that God will intervene, or we can strive to effect a positive transformation. I chose the latter option, so I decided to run for office.”
He emphasized that the inadequate power supply has driven many residents to relocate from the constituency to other regions, hindering the community’s growth.
“The shortage or absence of electricity supply is a major concern. It has forced numerous residents to leave our constituency and seek livelihoods in other parts of the state and neighboring states. This has had a detrimental impact on our economy and various other aspects,” added Adepoju.
He urged all constituency members to work together towards the growth and development of the region.
