During the 2023 Solemn Assembly held at Covenant of Glory Int’l Church Inc. in Bomadi, Delta State, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bomadi branch, prayed for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to provide the benefits of democracy to Nigerians effectively. Additionally, prayers were offered to strengthen the Christian community in the country.
CAN also prayed for an economic boost in Nigeria, particularly in the Niger Delta region and Bomadi council area.
In his sermon, Apostle (Dr) Liberty Usiaiyo, the Chairman of CAN, Bomadi branch, emphasized that the church has awakened spiritually, physically, and politically and is no longer dormant.
“This programme, no doubt, is an eye-opener for the church of God, which has helped us achieve certain goals since after our maiden assembly last year.
“We’re here again for the second assembly, and I urge you to identify with God, open your hearts in prayer/worship because God is set to transform the church. For as many that will call on God with genuine heart will go with fresh fire, fresh oil, and new zeal.
“I thank the church of God for coming out en masse to show her strength and lent her voice in the recent general elections in the country, and I pray God to embolden the church more and more,” he said.
Bishop Matthew Boye, addressing the theme of the event titled “And The Enemy Submitted,” emphasized the importance of unity within the body of Christ to triumph over the devious schemes of the common adversary, the devil.

By referring to passages from the Bible such as Psalm 66:1, 1 Peter 5:8, Revelation 1:9, and Revelation 20:2, he highlighted the significance of the church’s unity as an unstoppable weapon against the devil.
The prayers offered during the program encompassed various aspects, including the successful completion of ongoing or abandoned projects in Bomadi, the promotion of peace and development in the Niger Delta region, the battle against wicked altars, the unity of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the improvement of Nigeria’s economy, and special prayers for President Tinubu and all political leaders.
