On Friday, the Mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner, announced that the City of Houston in the United States of America (USA) has officially designated July 7 as Davido Day in recognition of Nigerian afrobeat sensation David Adeleke, also known as Davido.

The proclamation was made in a statement released in Houston, Texas.

He declared, “I, Sylvester Turner, Mayor of the city of Houston, do hereby proclaim July 7, 2023, as Davido Day.”
