Governor Agbu Kefas has appealed to civilians to stand behind the Nigerian Army in their fight against bandits and other criminal elements throughout the country. Mr. Kefas made this call during an inter-denominational service held at the Anglican Cathedral in Jalingo, Taraba, as part of the 2023 Army Day Celebration.
Being a former army officer, the governor emphasized that his administration would extend its utmost support to the army to ensure the security of Taraba, a border state, and other parts of the nation.
During his sermon titled ‘A Call to Service,’ Bishop Foreman Nedison of the Anglican Diocese of Jalingo urged army officers and soldiers to demonstrate selflessness in their service to humanity. He praised the army for its longstanding role in defending Nigeria and assisting other countries such as Liberia and Sierra Leone. The bishop condemned individuals who exploit drivers on the roads, urging them to change their ways.
