Gunmen attacked a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) parish in Abule-Ori, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State. The pastor was killed during the attack, and seven church members were abducted. On Sunday, the Commander of Ogun State So-Safe Corps, Soji Ganzallo, confirmed this information to reporters in Abeokuta.
Mr. Ganzallo explained that the So-Safe Corps officials successfully rescued the seven church members and managed to eliminate one of the kidnappers during a rescue operation.
According to a statement provided to journalists by the So-Safe Director of Information and Public Relations, Moruf Yusuf, Mr. Ganzallo reported that the incident took place around midnight on Saturday, specifically at 12:00 am.
” The Owode-Egba Zonal Command of the corps, under Jimoh Omoniyi, received a distress call that some members of the RCCG, Desires of Nations Parish, under Ogun Province 22, Abule-Ori in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area were attacked during a vigil.
” That seven members of the church were kidnapped, and the pastor killed.

” Officers of the Corps were charged to go after the suspects to rescue the victims unhurt, and the officers swung into action immediately,” he said.
Mr. Ganzallo revealed that the seven individuals who were taken captive were safely rescued without any harm, and one of the kidnappers was neutralized. He stated that several of the suspects suffered significant injuries during a confrontation.
He further mentioned that a collaborative effort between the police and the So-Safe Corps was underway to apprehend the escaping kidnappers and bring them to justice.
The commander noted that the deceased kidnapper’s body had been transported to a nearby morgue for further procedures.
