CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, has responded to a video that went viral, depicting a man with a knife being escorted by at least seven policemen to slaughter a cow. The video was initially shared by a Twitter user named Yemie Fash, who tagged the Force PRO and questioned the reason behind the large police presence with the man.
He wrote: “Hello, #Princemoye1 Who is this man, why does he have so many #PoliceNG men following him?”
In response, Adejobi retweeted the video on his official Twitter account on Thursday morning and expressed his disgust towards the officers’ actions. He stated that the policemen involved would be identified and dealt with accordingly. Furthermore, a committee has been established to evaluate the possibility of withdrawing officers from such assignments.
Adejobi wrote, “This behavior is reprehensible and will not be tolerated. We will identify and apprehend these officers. It is truly appalling. A committee has been formed to assess the process of discontinuing the assignment of our PMF/tactical personnel to such duties and instead utilize them for the newly announced Quick Intervention Squad.”

He further mentioned that the deployment of policemen to individuals will be thoroughly reviewed and standardized. Once the committee submits its findings, the Acting Inspector General of Police (Ag. IGP) will promptly implement the policy.
