Buba Galadima, a prominent New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) member, has urged President Bola Tinubu to dismiss Mahmood Yakubu, the National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Galadima claims that Yakubu colluded with certain politicians to undermine the democratic choice of Nigerians in the previous presidential election.
In an interview with Channels Television on Tuesday, Galadima asserted that Yakubu’s actions were even more egregious than those of Godwin Emefiele, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), who was terminated for misconduct.
According to Galadima: “The INEC chairman must go; what he did is not up to what Godwin Emefiele did.
“He colluded with some people to subvert the will of Nigerians. He committed the greatest crime anybody will commit.”
Yakubu faced allegations of tampering with the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.
Certain individuals involved in politics raised concerns about the INEC chairman’s involvement in manipulating the results of the 2023 presidential election to benefit Tinubu.
