The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Marshal, Dauda Ali Biu, has been instructed to mobilize adequate resources and personnel to ensure safe travels for all road users during the Eid-el-Adha celebration.
In a statement released by the corps spokesperson, Bisi Kazeem, on Sunday, it was announced that special patrol operations would occur from June 26 to July 1, 2023.
As part of the preparations, Biu stated that approximately 750 patrol vehicles, 120 ambulances, 25 tow trucks, and over 200 bicycles would be deployed on the roads during the particular operation.
Furthermore, he emphasized reducing road traffic crashes, fatalities, and injuries during special operations.

Biu urged FRSC officers to respond promptly to road traffic accidents, engage in effective public education and enlightenment campaigns, and ensure the swift removal of obstacles from the highways, among other responsibilities.
Motorists were advised to adhere to traffic laws to avoid arrest and prosecution by FRSC personnel and preventable road accidents.
The Corps Marshal also specifically instructed the operatives to prioritize effective traffic control, discourage wrongful overtaking, prevent the use of mobile phones while driving, enforce drivers’ license regulations, promote lane discipline, remove unfit vehicles from the road, and enforce the use of excellent and spare tires.
