The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has assured Nigerians that the National Assembly will collaborate with President Bola Tinubu to implement policies to revitalize inactive industries nationwide.
Akpabio, who represents the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District, made this commitment during his visit to Senator Chris Ekpenyong, the former representative of Akwa Ibom North-West in the ninth Senate.
Akpabio stated that the current Senate is fully prepared to utilize its authority to support the revival of these industries.
He expressed, “Considering the President’s proactive approach during his first 20 days in office, I am confident that previously dormant and neglected industries across the nation will receive the attention they deserve.”
“Our goal is to revitalize them to generate employment opportunities for our youth and contribute to our country’s economic growth.”
Akpabio also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Ekpenyong for his contributions and support during his campaign, which ultimately led to his election as the President of the 10th Senate.
He remarked, “Today, I am here to express my appreciation on behalf of the Stability Group for the support you provided us during our consultations for the position of Senate President.”
“Despite our political differences, you stood in support of my aspirations. Your support played a significant role in securing our victory. Politics is now behind us; it is time to work for the people.”
“I am an advocate of politics without animosity. I have left the past behind us because we must run an all-inclusive administration with the interests of Nigerians at the forefront of our actions.”
