The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, has expressed his profound disappointment regarding the inadequate representation provided by the former Minister of Budget and National Planning, Clem Agba.

In a statement released in Benin by Iguobaro Osaigbovo, the chief press secretary to the monarch, the Oba highlighted that during his tenure, the ex-minister failed to ensure equitable distribution of ministerial benefits to Edo South and Edo Central senatorial districts.

During a visit to the king’s palace to express gratitude for the monarch’s role in his appointment as a minister by former President Muhammadu Buhari, the minister received a response that conveyed the Oba’s disappointment.

The Oba of Benin emphasized that having benefited from the goodwill that led to his appointment, Mr. Agba should have reciprocated by extending the same gestures to all three senatorial zones of the state rather than engaging in divisive politics.

Furthermore, Oba Ewuare advised all Edo indigenes to utilize their positions of influence to attract development to the state and improve the well-being of the people.

The monarch stated that the former minister’s performance fell short of expectations.
