In Kaduna State, a tragic event unfolded as armed terrorists, commonly known as bandits, took the lives of Shuaibu Mohammed, the Ardo of Birni and Kewaye of Zazzau Emirate, and his four children.
The distressing incident occurred on Saturday night around 1 a.m. in Dorayi village in Zaria Local Government, Kaduna State.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the bandits, numbering five in total, not only claimed the lives of Shuaibu Mohammed and his children but also stole 100 cattle that belonged to him. Halima Shuaibu, the wife of the late Mr Mohammed, disclosed to reporters in Zaria, following her husband’s funeral, that the bandits targeted him and shot him in the head.
“The bandits brought out Ardo from his bedroom and shot him twice in the head, and he died instantly.
“The bandits searched all the rooms in the compound and killed my four children who are(were) married with children.

“After attacking the compound, they also went away with over 100 of our cows,” she said.
Abdurrahman Shuaibu, the sole survivor among Ardo’s children, recounted that the bandits, while departing the village, also targeted and shot two additional individuals.
However, when approached for comment, Mohammed Jalige, the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, stated that he had yet to receive any official information regarding the incident.
A local community member revealed that the terrorists singled out Mr Mohammed as their target.
“I think the Ardo was their target; they came for him. They killed him and his children. He is a wealthy man,” Tanimu Haske said.
