Kylian Mbappe, the renowned Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar, has addressed the criticism he faced following his letter to the club.
The 2018 World Cup winner recently communicated to PSG through a letter expressing his lack of intention to extend his contract beyond 2024, when his current deal expires.
This decision by the player has ignited anger within the club, leading to widespread backlash from PSG. As a result, it has been reported that they have made Mbappe available for sale during the upcoming summer transfer window.
PSG’s objective is to prevent the departure of the former Monaco player for free when his contract concludes in June 2024. The club’s president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, is reportedly furious with the striker.
Mbappe expressed surprise at the
level of fury generated by his letter, stating that he did not anticipate such a strong reaction.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Mbappe said, “Honestly, I did not think I was going to offend anyone. I only sent a letter. I didn’t know a letter could kill someone. It’s just a letter. I don’t care about the reactions.”
