Grief Strikes Air Force Community as Female Officer Commits Suicide in Lagos

A female Nigerian Air Force personnel, known as George, was discovered dead, hanging from the roof of her apartment at the Sam Ethan Air Force Base, Nigerian Air Force Logistics Command in Lagos.

However, the incident’s details remained unclear as of 9.25 pm on May 11, 2022. This occurrence, which took place on Saturday, May 10, 2023, caused confusion among other Air Force personnel after their resuscitation attempts proved unsuccessful.

According to sources, her lifeless body was retrieved from the rope in her residence at Block 75, flat 8, and transported to the 661 Nigerian Air Force Hospital in Ikeja, where she was officially pronounced dead.

Contacting the Public Relations Officer of the Logistics Command was unsuccessful. Air Commodore Ayodele Famiyiwa, the Director of Nigerian Air Force Public Relations and Information, confirmed the incident.

He said, “It is true. The body has been moved to our hospital morgue.

“The Base Commander has set up an inquiry to investigate the circumstances that led to it.”
