According to a report by Reuters, Johannesburg, the largest city in South Africa, experienced a 5.0 magnitude earthquake in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) stated that the earthquake occurred at 0038 GMT, reaching a depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles).
Several residents in Johannesburg reported feeling tremors, with one individual sharing on Twitter, “Earth tremor in Johannesburg. Longest and strongest I have felt! It went on for about 30 seconds, it felt like.”

However, Crisis24, a security risk and crisis management consultancy, has confirmed that there have been no reports of damage or casualties resulting from the earthquake.
