During its monthly congress meeting, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kano Council, called on the Federal Government to swiftly implement palliative measures to alleviate the impacts of the fuel subsidy removal.
In a communique released at the conclusion of the congress, NUJ State Chairman Comrade Abbas Ibrahim and Secretary Abba Mirtala emphasized the urgent need for the government and other stakeholders to devise effective strategies that would mitigate the adverse effects of the fuel subsidy withdrawal on the general public.
Recognizing the economic and social hardships faced by Nigerians, the union stressed the importance of providing relief measures that would bring solace to the people.

Furthermore, the NUJ commended the recent actions taken by the newly established mobile courts, which handed down prison sentences without the option of fines to phone robbers.
With the approaching Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the NUJ called for increased vigilance in curbing excesses and immoral activities among youths at gala centers.
