Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, has expressed his admiration for President Bola Tinubu’s decision to remove fuel subsidies. During a recent media chat, Wike emphasized that electing Tinubu was wise.
Wike stated, “Since his inauguration, Tinubu has demonstrated exemplary leadership. Let’s be honest with ourselves, we cannot continue with business as usual, and the removal of the fuel subsidy proves that. How many presidents would have had the courage to make such a decision? This, to me, is true leadership, and Tinubu is fully prepared for the task.”

Acknowledging the difficulty of the decision, Wike affirmed that a sincere and responsible leader would not engage in political games. He added, “During his campaign, Tinubu openly addressed this issue, and even the PDP acknowledged its significance. Hence, we did not make an error in choosing him as the kind of leader our country needs.”
In summary, Wike commended Tinubu’s firm stance on removing fuel subsidies, emphasizing that it demonstrates the leadership Nigeria requires to address its challenges effectively.
