Kebbi: Governor Idris Dismisses Political Appointments From His Predecessor

All of Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris’ political appointees have been released from their duties. He also made eight senior officer appointments known.

Ahmed Idris, the governor’s press secretary, said Mr. Idris appointed him as well as a Chief of Staff, a Secretary to the State Government, and a personal assistant on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi.

Mr. Idris named a senior special assistant on protocol, a special adviser on media and publicity, a special adviser on new media, a special adviser on new media, and a special adviser on new media.

The governor outlined the merit-based selection process for all appointments and noted that they all became effective on May 29.

He said, “The governor challenged the appointees to see their appointments as a call to duty and to do their best to justify the confidence reposed in them.
