Abba Yusuf, who recently became the governor of Kano state, has named Abdullahi Baffa as the newly appointed secretary to the state government on Monday.
Abdullahi Baffa was previously removed from his position as the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019. The reason for his dismissal was not provided.
Before his removal, Mr. Baffa had served as an aide to the former Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, and was appointed the head of TETFund on August 2, 2016.
Following his departure from office, he aligned himself with the opposition camp in Kano, led by former governor Rabiu Kwankwaso. Later, Mr. Baffa failed to secure the senatorial ticket under the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) in the Kano North district.
