The governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi, has requested that his title be used instead of His Excellency, Umar Namadi.
At the Malam Aminu Kano Triangle in Dutse on Monday, he made the announcement during his inaugural speech.
“My dear good people of Jigawa State, with all sense of humility, I would use this opportunity to call for your assistance by addressing me as MALAM UMAR NAMADI instead of His Excellency, Umar Namadi,” he said.
This is done in the attitude of modesty, which, in his opinion, will also heighten our sense of humility and camaraderie when we engage with one another.
He thanked the throngs of cheering supporters for their steadfast support.
The All Progressives Congress, or APC, won both the State and the Federal elections, according to Malam Namadi, which is a triumph for democracy, the progressives, a unified Jigawa State, and a united Nigeria.

Among other things, he pledged to lead the country “with the fear of Allah to Whom we will all ultimately be held accountable.” He also pledged to lead with openness, accountability, inclusivity, caution, responsiveness, and wisdom.
He declared, “We shall rule in accordance with the Oath of Office we just took, whereby I and my Deputy do sincerely promise to commit ourselves to the fulfillment of our responsibilities to the service and well-being of the people of Jigawa State.
He said that taking the oath will serve as a continual reminder to conduct State business in a steady, impartial, and honorable manner.
However, Governor Namadi advised the residents of the state to keep praying for the harmony, growth, and advancement of Jigawa State and all of Nigeria.
