The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals’ first product, according to Aliko Dangote, “will be in the market before the end of July, beginning of August this year.”
The president of Dangote Industries Limited said this during the opening remarks at the Monday ceremony for the 650,000 bpd refinery in Lagos State.
Beyond the event today, he added, “Our first objective is to increase production of the various products to ensure that within this year, we’re able to fully satisfy our nation’s demand for higher quality products.”
Aliko Dangote is expressing his gratitude to Buhari for his assistance and for motivating him when he felt like giving up.
In addition, he commends Emefiele for “moving mountains” for the project.
He said that the achievement will allow Nigeria to end the agony of import dependence and put an end to the “once and for all” dumping of harmful, subpar petroleum products into the Nigerian market.
Beyond this, we want to make sure that our plants are operated as efficiently and at their maximum capacity as possible so that we can export competitively to other markets, particularly in the ECOWAS and other nearby regions, where 53 out of 55 countries rely on imports to meet their demand for petroleum products.
