A statement released on Saturday by Force spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi revealed that Seun Kuti, an Afrobeat star, was captured on video assaulting a police officer in uniform, and the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, CFR, has ordered the arrest of the musician.
The statement added that the incident will be investigated thoroughly, and the suspect will be prosecuted accordingly.
IGP Usman Alkali Baba reassured Nigerians that acts of contempt or disdain for symbols of authority would not be tolerated, and offenders of such hideous crimes would be brought to book.

However, Seun Kuti, in a cryptic Instagram story, alleged that an attempt was made on his life and that of his family. He claimed to have proof of the incident but stated that he wouldn’t press charges as the person involved has apologized.
