Former President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he would have ended the Russia-Ukraine war in 24 hours if he were still in office.
Trump made the comments during a CNN town hall in New Hampshire. He said that he would have been able to end the war by meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“I would have met with Putin. I would have met with Zelensky. They both have weaknesses, and they both have strengths. And within 24 hours, that war would be settled. It’ll be over,” Trump said.
Trump also criticized the Biden administration’s handling of the war. He said that the Biden administration was “weak” and “incompetent.”
“The Biden administration is weak. They’re incompetent. They’re not tough enough,” Trump said.

Trump’s comments come as the Russia-Ukraine war enters its 10th week. The war has caused a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, with millions of people displaced from their homes.
The United States and its allies have imposed a series of sanctions on Russia in an effort to pressure the country to withdraw its troops from Ukraine. However, the sanctions have so far failed to deter Russia from continuing its war.
It remains to be seen whether Trump would have been able to end the war in 24 hours if he were still in office. However, his comments suggest that he believes he would have been a more effective leader than President Biden.
