Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has filed a request with the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal for the televised coverage of its proceedings, mirroring a similar application made by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Abubakar had requested permission to televise the tribunal’s proceedings regarding his petition challenging the victory of Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the election. In a related development, the tribunal granted the petitioners’ request to adjourn the pre-hearing session on Obi and the LP’s petition until May 17.
