Nigeria is given priority by the Egyptian government in the permission of evacuations for its people leaving Sudan, according to Mr. Nura Rimi, Nigeria’s ambassador to Egypt.
Rimi stated on Thursday that the accomplishment was made possible by the friendly ties between the two nations. He spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Thousands of foreigners, including diplomats and charity workers, were left stranded in the nation due to the outbreak of fighting between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary organization Rapid Support Forces.
But according to Rimi, many nations evacuated their citizens through Egypt’s southern region because they had faith in its leadership and populace. Although it was not an easy choice because security precautions had to be taken, Nigerians were permitted to flee through Egypt as soon as possible.”Because Egypt must protect its national security, I maintained that the terms and directives provided were done in good faith
