According to a statement issued by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday, the agency’s Ibadan Zonal Command arrested 40 suspected internet fraudsters in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The arrest was made on Wednesday after the agency received intelligence on the suspects’ alleged cyber fraudulent activities.
The EFCC operatives recovered several items from the suspects, including seven exotic cars, mobile phones, laptops, PlayStation video games, Apple wristwatches, and charms. The suspects have reportedly provided useful information to the agency and will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.

Among those arrested were Emmanuel Adebowale Oluwole, Jaiyeoba Daniel Olamilekan, Odunjo Sodiq, Omodele Peter Idowu, Aligamhe John Clement, Kounchi Sunday Damilare, Ojo Abdul Quadri Adewale, Olamilekan Olamide Danusi, Nafiu Waris Ayomide, and Sodiq Opeyemi Sunday.
Other suspects included Gbenga Akinwunmi, Odunnbaku Isikilu Olawale, Akinpelu Quadri Opeyemi, Idris Gbolahan Abdulazeez, Akintaro Isaac Oluwabumise, Bamgbade Clement, Adebowale Adejare Abdulsalam, Aliu Damilola Daramola, Olaitan Gbenga Josiah, and Dosumu Michael Ayomide.
The rest of the suspects arrested were Faruq Azeez Olanrewaju, Olaoluwa Daniel, Siyanbade Timilehin, Olaiya Nifemi Samuel, Rasak Abdullahi Adeshina, Owolabi Mustapha Ayomide, Ololade Sunday Olamide, Elegbede Moruf Olamilekan, Olanrewaju Olamilekan Seun, Tobiloba Alayo Lekan, Damilola Sunday Showunmi, Shittu Waheed Adeleke, Olanrewaju Adeoye, Adeniyi Gbolahan Olamilekan, Theophilus Onoapor, Lawal Usman, Sogbaike Boluwatife Martins, Raji Eniola Al-Hamin, Adeleye Damilola Testimony, and Olaniyan Daniel Ayodeji.
