Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President-General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), before the end of his tenure due to Kanu’s deteriorating health.
The elder statesman appealed in Enugu, stating that the Southeast region would have difficulty negotiating peace with the Federal Government if Kanu remained in detention. Nigerians would be happy if Kanu is released, according to Iwuanyanwu.
According to Iwuanyawu: “It is also important to note that the judiciary has discharged and freed Nnamdi Kanu. It will be the joy of many Igbo people and Nigerians to see Kanu released from detention.
