The Jigawa State branch of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) calls for large-scale recruitment in the state’s civil service to address the current staffing gap.
During the International Workers Day celebration in Dutse, the state capital, Comrade Sunusi Alhassan Maigatari, the NLC Chairman in Zamfara State, emphasized a significant shortage of personnel across all state ministries and parastatals, particularly in the education and health sectors.
Maigatari has stated that the development and growth of the state’s economy and social infrastructure depend primarily on the effectiveness of its civil service.
He thus urged the state government to focus on recruiting qualified and competent personnel and creating enabling working conditions to ensure the efficient implementation of policies, projects, and programs.
Maigatari has commended Governor Badaru for his numerous initiatives in improving the state’s infrastructure, economy, health, and education. However, the NLC has highlighted the need for significant investment and hiring to bridge the state’s civil service staffing gap.
